Between work and a thoroughly useless mobile broadband connection I've been gone for far too long. Well I'm back now, and working on improving every aspect of my site. First of all I've added the newest Leaf Books contest to my competitions page. Good luck if you're taking part.

Leaf Books have announced another two competitions, a poetry and a post card competition.  I've updated my competitions page with the details.

Leaf books have announced a further two competitions, I have updated my competitions page with all the details, so get over there and get involved.

I've just entered Leaf Book's nano-fiction contest. The contest is now closed, but I just wanted to wish good luck to all who entered, including myself!

If you know of, or are holding yourselves, any great writing contests, then please let me know through my contact me page and I'll put them up on my competitions page.

New story added 01/31/2009

Now that Christmas is over my course has begun again, my first piece of coursework is finished and I have now published it here. I'm really happy with this one but have not had any course feedback as yet, so I'd really appreciate it if you could give it a read and let me know what you think through my contact me page.

Online publishers Dark Tales have finally announced the winners of their autumn '08 competition, sadly I am not among them, but If you would like to check if you are then please visit them at darktales.co.uk

Gone so long 01/20/2009

Christmas under the hanging sword of the credit crunch has been long and arduous, and I've been in no position to produce new work or update the site. Still, the new year brings a new U.S president and, well, not much else.

I've had no takers for my free editing and proofreading services, which is a crying shame since I need the experience and for once on the internet there really is no catch! If you're interested in this service please go to my services page.

Anyway, happy new year, I hope there's light at the end of the tunnel for us all. I'll try to keep my blog updated from now on, and I should have some more works up by the end of the week.

Forum removed 12/11/2008

Due to a lack of members. And frankly, a lack of necessity, I have removed the Hellsinger forum. If you would like to take part in a writers forum join WritersBeat, Where I can be found under the user name F. Locke.

Although I will be doing this as standard at WritersBeat, I have decided to offer free critique, proofreading and copy-editing services. This is for me, as a chance to gain a body of work, as I am looking to do this professionally, and for you, as a favour (because I'm just that nice!)

Check out my Services page for more info.

    Welcome

Welcome to the Hellsinger blog, the home of my foray into the complicated and often deflating world of creative writing.

My name is F. Locke, although I once specialised purely in dark and twisted tales I have been branching out recently, still I love suspense, and I love making my readers ask questions, I don't like things to be handed to me, I like to have to work things out for myself, hopefully you all do too.

The blog is for me, as a means of tracking my own progress and backing up my work.

It’s also for you, the internet wanderer, the aspiring writer like me, as my experiences may be of use to you.

I’m hoping I can provide help, advice and assistance as I go.  I may be able to even produce a competition or two.

Any comments are welcome, as are suggestions, but please; constructive criticism only.
